What happened?

There hasn’t been serious talk on the campaign trail about any domestic issue: the economy, education, health care (remember health care?!) for what seems like forever.  Aside from some bickering about Iraq, Afghanistan, and the surge, and a brief foray into Georgia and NATO there has been no serious foreign policy dialogue either.

I’m not talking about stump speeches, I’m talking about a back-and-forth between candidates.  Hillary and Obama were doing this.

This silence good for the McCain, bad for Obama.  The Republican party doesn’t have any fresh ideas for any of these issues.  So the focus is on… well… what is the focus even on any more?  Vague terms like honor?  Or experience?  I’m not sure anyone knows.
